A little something about me and my professional journey.

My path to becoming a therapist began with my own journey toward health and healing.

Years ago, I would have considered myself to be a highly anxious person. Along with the anxiety also came intermittent periods of depression. It cycled back and forth, leaving me feeling out of control of my own emotions.

For years, I was struggling on the inside, but managed to mostly “keep it together” on the outside. I was a high achiever and took great pride in my accomplishments.

It got to a point, however, where I knew I needed to make some serious changes. It set me on a mission to find deep healing on the physical, emotional and spiritual levels.

I pursued training in hypnotherapy, reiki, yoga and psychology.

I ended up spending over 6 months living in the jungles of Costa Rica, learning from some incredible healers and teachers. I committed to a daily yoga and meditation practice. I journaled, laughed, cried, and played in the ocean waves. I observed nature at every opportunity.

I returned to graduate school with a deeper understanding of healing at a cellular level. Upon graduating, I opened a private practice and continued to expand on integrating yoga and mindfulness into individual therapy and coaching. I taught Psychology of Yoga workshops at large yoga studios. Additionally, I led weekly Yoga for Emotional Health groups.

I believe in what I have to offer because I have walked the healing path. I am able to speak from experience and also be fully present to yours.

What it Means for You

My path to becoming a therapist was not linear, but here I am. I have respect for the process. In our work together, we will start where you are and we will honor your unique journey.

I strive to create a safe and non-judgmental atmosphere in therapy. I help my clients (you!) in discovering your personal roadblocks, gaining clarity on your values, defining what success means to you, and creating an exciting vision for your future.

The goal is to provide you with tools that you can take with you and have forever.

My approach is fueled by the desire to blend both science and soul, Eastern and Western. I believe in re-wiring the brain using the wisdom of the body. Getting present is key. I utilize cutting-edge mindfulness practices in order to help my clients do this on a practical level.

Together, we can shift old habits and patterns, creating new ones that will truly support you in your life.

Official Bio

Jenna Griffith is a Associate Professional Clinical Counselor, practicing mindfulness-based psychotherapy in Santa Rosa, CA. She works with adults and teens, offering individual counseling sessions and leading workshops. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Redwood Empire Chapter of California Marriage and Family Therapists.

Jenna is certified as yoga instructor, with training in Clinical Hypnotherapy, Rapid Resolution Therapy and Wellness Coaching. She completed her M.A. in Clinical Counseling Psychology at the University of Colorado, Denver.

Additionally, Jenna has served as a volunteer instructor with Yoga for the People, teaching trauma-sensitive yoga classes at a transitional homeless shelter. She also acted as a team captain on the Domestic Abuse Response Team (DART) at the Safehouse Progressive Alliance for Nonviolence.

With ten years of experience, Jenna skillfully combines her training in psychology and mind-body modalities to provide clients with practical tools for rewiring new patterns and habits into their daily routines.
